Nepal’s Foreign Minister calls on PM Modi

Arzu Rana Deuba, on an official visit to India, met PM Modi to discuss bilateral relations.

New Delhi: Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal, Arzu Rana Deuba, called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday to discuss strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Dueba is on an official visit to India on invitation of EAM Jaishankar, a PIB press release stated.

According to a press statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, the two leaders discussed the positive impact of the high-level interactions in the bilateral relationship and also appreciated the participation of the Prime Minister of Nepal in the 3rd Voice of Global South Summit hosted by India.

In a statement issued after the meeting, Foreign Minister Deuba said that she thanked the Prime Minister for India’s Neighbourhood First policy and various development cooperation initiatives taken by India for Nepal and reaffirmed her commitment to further strengthen India-Nepal bilateral relations. The Prime Minister accepted the invite for a visit to Nepal on mutually convenient dates to be decided through diplomatic channels, the statement added, the release added.
