Myanmar to hold first phase of general election on December 28, state television reports

(Reuters) -Myanmar will hold the first phase of its general election on December 28, state television said in a bulletin on Monday.

The election, the first since a 2021 coup, will be held in December and January over several phases for security reasons, authorities have said. The announcement on MRTV provided no further details beyond the date of the first phase.
