AMMAN (Reuters) – Jordan’s Prime Minister Bisher Khasawnehh submitted his resignation on Sunday less than week after parliamentary elections, according to officials familiar with the matter.

U.S. educated Jaafar Hassan, currently head of King Abdullah’s office and former planning minister, is expected to replace Khasawneh, a veteran diplomat and former palace advisor who was appointed nearly four years ago, the officials, who declined to be named, told Reuters.
