(Reuters) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a phone call from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, where he was briefed about the conflict between Iran and Israel, India’s foreign ministry said on Sunday.

Modi emphasised the need for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward and reiterated India’s support for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability, the Ministry of External Affairs statement read.
