LONDON (Reuters) -A helicopter with four people on board crashed during a flying lesson into a field near a seaside resort town on Britain’s Isle of Wight on Monday, police said, with one person airlifted to a major trauma centre.
British media reported that Northumbria Helicopter, the operator, has said one of its aircraft – a G-OCLV model – was involved in the crash during a flying lesson.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary earlier said the helicopter had come down in a field near Ventnor.
A critical care team, including a doctor and specialist paramedic, was dispatched by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
A spokesperson for the air ambulance service said it had airlifted one person to hospital.
