May 23 (Reuters) – Four people were confirmed dead and 90 remain trapped underground after carbon monoxide levels exceeded limits in a coal mine in Changzhi City of north China’s Shanxi Province, state news agency Xinhua reported Saturday.
The accident happened late Friday in the Liushenyu coal mine in Changzhi. By early Saturday, 157 of the total 247 workers who were underground had been brought to the surface, including four dead, Xinhua said.
