SINGAPORE (Reuters) – A former Sinopec Corp executive was sentenced to 14 years in jail for taking bribes, China’s semi-official news agency China News Service reported on Tuesday.
Duan Yanxiu, former communist party secretary of Sinopec Natural Gas Company, received the jail sentence as well as a fine of 3.9 million yuan ($548,670) at a local court in east China, the report said.
The gas firm operates Sinopec’s receiving terminals of liquefied natural gas (LNG), imports LNG and markets the state oil firm’s domestic gas productions.
Sinopec did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
