BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s military said on Monday that it organised army units to go to Ruili, Zhenkang and other border front lines to carry out armed patrols and air-ground joint police patrols, to maintain security and stability in border areas.

Ruili and Zhenkang are areas near Myanmar.

The Southern Theater of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army organised army units to test troops’ ability to “quickly move, block and control, and strike together, and maintain security and stability in the border areas,” the military said in a statement.
