BEIJING (Reuters) -China has urged Cambodia and Thailand to continue efforts towards restoring peace at their border as soon as possible, according to a Chinese foreign ministry statement on Friday summarising a trilateral meeting a day earlier.

In the statement, China reiterated its support for the Southeast Asia nations to uphold the consensus they arrived at recently and achieve a sustainable ceasefire.

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Thai and Cambodian counterparts on Thursday for a discussion.
