SAO PAULO (Reuters) – Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has named state lawmaker Macae Evaristo as the country’s new human rights minister, he said on Monday in a post on social platform Threads.

Former human rights minister Silvio Almeida was fired by Lula last week following accusations that he sexually harassed several women, including another cabinet minister.
