SEOUL (Reuters) – A fishing boat has sunk in waters off South Korea’s Jeju Island with 14 sailors rescued and 13 missing, the Yonhap news agency reported on Friday citing the coast guard.

It was reported to South Korea’s coast guard in the early hours of Friday that a fishing boat was sinking around 24 kilometers away in a northwest direction from an island off the coast of Jeju Island, Yonhap reported.

President Yoon Suk Yeol has ordered all available resources and manpower on the scene to be deployed for a search and rescue operation, his office said in a statement.

Of those 14 people who were rescued, two were unconscious, the report said.
