New Delhi: The Supreme Court’s verdict calling for a review of all communication restrictions in Jammu and Kashmir within a week saw favorable reactions from opposition parties. The senior BJP leadership, however, is not sharing its reaction– at least not on Twitter – which probably tells you what it thinks of the judgment.
One of the first to applaud the SC order is J&K’s PDP.
Finally #SupremeCourt has woken up to the injustices cast upon the people of J&K, calling such govt. lodged curbs an “abuse” of power reinstates our faith in the judiciary. @ndtv @CNNnews18 @TimesNow #KashmirShutdown @ptinewscom https://t.co/YYACRjaVzT

Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram sees SC’s order as a criticism of the Modi government.
SC order is a rebuff to the unconstitutional and arrogant stance of the central government and the J&K administration on the restrictions imposed in J&K.

However, author Milan Vaishnav attacks the top court – read why.
It took FIVE months for the apex court to come up with this? https://t.co/pryogn9shm

Union Minister Smriti Irani is merciless in her attack on Deepika Padukone for her support to JNUSU President Aishe Ghose and others but then concedes that it was Padukone’s right to do so… Huh?
@smritiirani takes on deepika – says she made her pol affiliations clear in 2011- says deepika stood with those who are against nation

Aha, what have we here? A tug of words between Delhi’s Stephanians and BJP’s B. L. Santosh.
Sir, most of us, the students who protested yesterday, were not born then. Our sincere apologies for that.
For our inspiration please tell us how you helped the Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. https://t.co/esPmeAr50V

Meanwhile, Sri Lankan President Rajapaksa Gotabaya describes how he deals with students. Do we even need to mention what he is alluding to?
Contrary to the usual tear-gas & baton charge that greeted Uni student protestors previously, I invited the union reps to Pres office to meet with Addtl Secy & Higher Ed officials to discuss grievances. Regular follow-up mtngs were scheduled, to ensure speedy resolution to issues pic.twitter.com/m0ifzVjbjy

Rightwing author Shefali Vaidya’s transphobic comment about an individual at the JNU protests has appalled many on Twitter. Here are two scathing reactions.
I see a confident trans person living and expressing themselves. You can’t. You are incapable of understanding the goddess within. All you can do is hate. Shame on you for being so vile. #Transphobia.

You can’t “unsee” it because your eyes are shut anyway and you are predisposed, prejudiced and committed to NOT broadening your spectrum of understanding—let alone tolerance.
Seconding @Actor_Siddharth ‘s opinion on banning this segregationist. https://t.co/6M0CiItLjg

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, wherever he is, finds something objectionable about Modi’s meeting with his “crony capitalist and super rich friends”.
Modi's "most extensive" budget consultation ever, is reserved for crony capitalist friends & the super rich. He has no interest in the views or voices of our farmers, students, youth, women, Govt & PSU employees, small businessmen or middle class tax payers. #SuitBootBudget pic.twitter.com/6VP2g9OyNT

Twitterati also dug into actor Juhi Chawla’s past and came up with this 2013 tweet of hers. Chawla has recently spoken in favour of Prime Minister Modi and shut down a reporter who questioned her.
Thank God,
Apun ke underwear ka naam 'Dollar' hai.'Rupee' hota to baar baar girta raheta!!
— Juhi Chawla (@iam_juhi) August 21, 2013
Just imagine. When she tweeted this in 2013 nobody called her an urban naxal,Tukde tukde, Anti National or nobody told her to go to Pakistan.
That time she was enjoying her right to freedom of speech. She was surely our hero to have criticised the govt.

Britain’s Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s decision to step back as royal seniors has evoked mixed reactions: Republican Mark Walker is sarcastic — or is he appreciating President Trump? Journalist Piers Morgan is very clear what he thinks of Prince Harry’s move…
And Madame Tussaud’s museum has taken their threat all too literally.
London's Madame Tussauds wax museum has already removed their Harry and Meghan figures from the royal family display https://t.co/AdNhUoAJiL
