(Reuters) – Software firm HubSpot is investigating a cybersecurity incident, TechCrunch reported on Friday citing a company spokesperson.

The company “identified a security incident that involved bad actors targeting a limited number of HubSpot customers and attempting to gain unauthorized access to their accounts” on June 22, according to the report.

HubSpot is taking steps to protect its customers and their data, the report added.

The company did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

HubSpot makes marketing software for small and medium-sized businesses, and specializes in customer relationship management.
