NEW YORK (Reuters) – Enzo Biochem will pay $4.5 million to settle claims it failed to adequately safeguard personal and private health information of its patients, New York Attorney General Letitia James said on Tuedsay.
The settlement with New York, New Jersey and Connecticut followed a ransomware attack that compromised information belonging to about 2.4 million patients, including more than 1.4 million New Yorkers, James said.
