BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s low earth orbit satellite company that hopes to challenge Elon Musk’s Starlink signed an agreement to enter the Brazilian market on Wednesday, the company said on Wednesday.

SpaceSail signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Brazilian telecommunications firm Telecomunicacoes Brasileiras S.A. to provide satellite communications and broadband Internet services to the Latin American country.

The MOU is one of many that will be signed during China’s President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Brasilia, where he will hold meetings with Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
