The whole premise that Left vote transferred lock stock n barrel to BJP thus the 40.36% BJP vote in 2019 LS election, is wrong.
The analysis needs to be seen VS constituency wise and region wise, rather than seeing it on State level.
BJP gained a lot of TMC vote say in Mednipur, Bankura, Purulia, Nadia, North 24 Parganas, and North Bengal.
Also TMC gained votes from Left n Congress in South 24 Parganas, Kolkata, Basirhat.
There was flow and settling of votes in across board, only party which wasn’t loosing votes to any other party was BJP.
TMC got over 95% of Muslim votes except in Murshidabad and Maldah South, where Congress got over 40-50% of Muslim votes plus of course the non Muslim votes.
Out of the 43.3% vote polled by TMC close to 25-27% belongs to the minority community. Also in Kolkata n it’s suburbs like urban seats Dumdum, Uttarpara, South 24 Parganas TMC was very strong.
The BJP n the TMC seem to have neatly divided Bengal in regional political terms.
I supported Didi first time for change and 2nd time a chance for development and reducing violence in state. The development is negative and violence and bullying by Didi’d party has crossed what worst we have experienced during last left rule. So change is needed and Didi need to go now.
TMC’s vote share will reduce as result of defections, so Mamta’s vote share will remain intact only in Hindu minority regions but will hv definite impact in non-Muslim regions.
Mamata might loose this election in a surprising manner, just like the left previously. BJP has now replaced the congress as the ‘anti-incumbency’ alternative.
