Out of 233 varsities that have registered for CUET this year, 118 are private universities. Nearly 14 lakh students have applied for the exam as compared to 9.9 lakh in 2022.
UGC draft rules for foreign universities entering India include clause that they cannot teach courses that jeopardise ‘national interest’, but there is no clarity on what this means.
