The thousands of Hindu women gangraped in full public view and the thousands of Hindu men murdered and their dead bodies piled up in village centres as a macabre tactic of humiliation enforcing “loyalty” to the Nizam.
The few who dared to resist were brutally tortured and murdered and left hanging on public squares as a message to the masses.
Mr. Yunus Lasania, taking advantage of the platform provided by The Print, has made shrill calls to discredit the movie and it’s director.
Just because the truth isn’t palatable to him and others of his ilk, he wants the well deserved award withdrawn.
“This one-sided narrative is partly the result of earlier governments suppressing historical truths, creating a vacuum that others now fill with propaganda.”
So, actively suppressing one side of the story and propagating the alternative view is not propaganda, but telling what was suppressed for 75 years is counted as propaganda. You are doing the same by putting just one side of the story.
Mr.Yunus I would recommend you watch the movie completely first before accusing it of “demonising muslims” and why shouldn’t a movie be made regarding atrocities committed by Razakars on hindus(predominantly unprivileged so called”lower castes”) of telengana.These are stories that shall never be forgotten I myself have heard the suffering my great grandfathers(my great grandfather fought against razakars and became disabled) and grandfathers have endured you cannot rub it all under the rug saying it’s somehow “demonising to muslims” that’s a pathetic attempt at whitewashing history .The streets of bairanpally, appampally and many more villages across telengana stand as testament to rapes,violence and brutality afflicted on hindus of this state by an Islamist militia with support of Nizam who you seem to worship. Even if elites of this state forget this history trying even to rewrite it saying the “true victims of 1940s were muslims” the true people who fought for this state and their descendants will keeping passing on these stories.
