IAF facing severe shortage in fighter strength and state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has failed to deliver. Of IAF's initial order of 40 Tejas, HAL has delivered only 36.
According to contract for 73 Tejas Mk-1A and 10 trainer aircraft, inked on 1 February 2021, the first Tejas was to be delivered within three years of signing the deal — February 2024.
While Tejas had its own set of system troubles that pilots have encountered & given feedback on, aircraft is considered to be sturdy enough for fliers to remain in control.
While complimenting HAL, CAS indicated that based on these assurances, LCA Mk-1A could be inducted into a newly raised squadron in one of the IAF's operational bases early next year.
Coal-based power generation fell 3% in 2025 while renewable capacity surged to 40% of India’s installed power mix, according to India Power Sector Review 2025 by CREA.
Pakistan military said it has assured Bangladesh of fast-tracked delivery of Super Mushshak trainer aircraft during high level defence meet held Tuesday.
