IAF facing severe shortage in fighter strength and state-run Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has failed to deliver. Of IAF's initial order of 40 Tejas, HAL has delivered only 36.
According to contract for 73 Tejas Mk-1A and 10 trainer aircraft, inked on 1 February 2021, the first Tejas was to be delivered within three years of signing the deal — February 2024.
While Tejas had its own set of system troubles that pilots have encountered & given feedback on, aircraft is considered to be sturdy enough for fliers to remain in control.
While complimenting HAL, CAS indicated that based on these assurances, LCA Mk-1A could be inducted into a newly raised squadron in one of the IAF's operational bases early next year.
While addressing the curtain raiser of 'Aero India' 2023, Singh said that over 75 friendly countries and 700 exhibitors will be part of the Aero-India Show.
From coastal Andhra Pradesh to Jallianwala Bagh in Punjab, from bonfires in UP to midnight pledges in Chennai and Lahore, Vande Mataram was a war cry to galvanise people toward azaadi.
With the US-India trade deal yet to get done, rupee depreciation may be helping to mitigate India’s loss of competitiveness. The other problem is extreme despondence among overseas equity investors.
Of the total package, $649 million will be utilised for additional hardware, software, and support services, and the remaining for Major Defence Equipment (MDE).
Don’t blame misfortune. This is colossal incompetence and insensitivity. So bad, heads would have rolled even in the old PSU-era Indian Airlines and Air India.
