The last time this matter flared up was when Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in a very similar directive in April, called for the relocation of stray dogs in the capital.
Finance ministry says the proposed revamp will focus on structural reforms, rate rationalisation & ease of living, & will be deliberated upon in the coming weeks.
The project is meant to be a ‘protective shield that will keep expanding’, the PM said. It is on the lines of the ‘Golden Dome’ announced by Trump, it is learnt.
Now that both IAF and PAF have made formal claims of having shot down the other’s aircraft in the 87-hour war in May, we can ask a larger question: do such numbers really matter?
Have been watching this game from the late or early ’70s from Trivandrum
THUMBI was the name of the Rocket
It was ment to be a school demonstrator not commercial
MC Dattan was using his spare time working on this pet informal work
Looking at the Indian Environment, it would be a tough job to have model rocketry as open commercial activity
However on appropriate scale can be commercialized for Schools and Collage kits
Need to be associated with industry to know how to steer through legal procedures
Not knock at door to door
Using commonly available scrap, I have seen kids experiment with concepts
Does need only kitchen stuff for solid fuel, need not get stuck to black powder
The first model rocket was launched at night from Delhi’s ridge in the late Fifties by three high-school students. The model rocket consisted of a pipe salvaged from an old car exhaust pipe (“heat-resistant you see”)., about half-a-metere long; a balsa-wood nose cone (minimum dead weight), and was fueled by a mixture of sulphur and zinc powder. The payload was a mercury switch that activated that closed and supposed to activa5te a light when the rocket curved past apogee (did not work; the boys had forgottten about zero-G at apogee). The range safety officer was the late Wing Commander Situ mallick, then PRO of the Ministry of Defence. A home-made theodolite operated by the mother of one of the boys attempted to track the rocket — to no avail. “It was so fast”
How do I know all this? Because I was one of those school boys.
