As of Monday 8am, India's number of active cases declined to 4,02,188, its total Covid burden was 3,19,69,954 cases while death toll was 4,28,309, according to the health ministry.
Recoveries outnumbered daily new cases for the 45th consecutive day with 2,92,51,029 people having recuperated from the disease. The case fatality rate stood at 1.31%.
According to health ministry's data, the number of fatalities recorded Sunday was the lowest in nearly 45 days with 2,427 deaths. The daily positivity rate stood at 6.34%.
Registering a steady increase for the 19th day in a row, the active cases have increased to 5,21,808, while the recovery rate has further dropped to 94.32 %.
