Everyone knows the range and capability of Paks F -16 AMRAAMs. IAF must have known about the jammers with Pak . WHy didn’t procurement of longer range missiles from Russia start in 2016 ? Than we would have performed better in Feb 2019. We had the Sukhoi platform which is as good as F-16, but it had inferior weapons. This points to a failure of forward planning and lack of awareness of the enemy’s strength . Didn’t the IAF raise the alarm by 2015 -2016 ?
It looks foolish to depend on only Rafale to bail us oout. Rafales will be available in some decent numbers only by 2022. Till then, are we upgrading our existing platforms ? The events of the past 6 years look as tragic as the bungling of the Rafale deal by Antony and the UPA.
