If I am correct and remember correctly by Maithili Sharan Gupt in the 19th century did write about Urmila (hum raj ke liye marte hein) and gautam buddha’s wife ( sakhi woh mujhse kahake jate) . Both are were ane eye openr for me atleast – one we learnt in 9th and the second in the 11th. Somewhere lost the essense of it all in the hustle bustle of life
May be our son’s will hear about Lord Rama who could stand up against his own dilemma and marital vow to honor demand of citizens of his kingdom. Unlike Secular icons of today Lord Rama did not justify his action and clung to his throne by passing batton to his wife, son and daughter. Is this not what everyone demands even today when it is proclaimed “Cesar’s wife should be above suspicion”.
