Om Prakash Rajbhar’s SBSP and BJP had been at loggerheads in UP for months. The last straw was when Rajbhar asked his supporters at a rally to thrash BJP workers.
Dice have been found dating to the Bronze Age in various Harappan sites in present-day northwest India and throughout Pakistan. And it’s very possible that some had female owners.
This world is being restructured and redrawn by one man, and what’s his power? It’s not his formidable military. It’s trade. With China, it turned on him.
Despite all their show of unity, looks like the opposition didn’t take the BJP really seriously. BJP itself knew that it was in trouble, so Amit Shah went out of his way to placate parties in Bihar and Maharashtra. In Bihar it gave 5 or 6 of the seats it had won in 2014 to Nitish Kumar’s JDU to keep him happy. Ram Vilas and his son were acting pricey, so instead of acting pricey in return because the BJP was a larger party, a special plane was sent to ferry them for talks. Similar gestures were made to Shiv Sena in maharashtra.
The opposition on the other hand felt they could throw their weight around, each of them. Lalu Prasad thought Kanhaiya Kumar will become too big, so he fielded a candidate in Begusarai, which helped Giriraj Singh. Now we once again have this thoroughly obnoxious man at hand who will send many of us to Pakistan. Rahul Gandhi and AAP, despite saying all the right things about wanting to defeat the BJP, couldn’t come together in Delhi and Haryana, cut each other’s votes and gave all the seats to the Hindu headline party which will now think it has all the reasons to become more hardline. Mayawati couldn’t hide her darling ambition to be India’s prime minister and just last evening sent the word around for whoever in the opposition was listening ; Rahul Gandhi had expressed a similar desire many months ago and again had Ghulam Nabi reiterate it only a few days back; as a result, Mayawati saw Rahul as an enemy within, so made it very clear to Akhilesh that she didn’t want the Congress in mahagatthbandhan; so they all cut each other’s votes and gave the UP to the BJP on a platter.
Akhilesh persistently made the right comment that Congress should show a big heart. Rahul didn’t think so. Mayawati was on her own trip, and for some queer reasons, Sheela Dixit too dreamt to be on a trip to the chair of Delhi. These three are the Jaichands of modern India.
Now the ball is squarely in Narendra Modi’s court – – whether he wants to go more berserk, or become more sagacious. Both these traits a fulfilment of ambition can impart. It will depend entirely on what substance he is made of.
