Prime accused Harpreet Singh Talwar, has taken strong exception to NIA's argument made in the Supreme Court, informing the bench that his kids were bullied in school as a result.
Rana, 64, was brought to India Thursday and sent to 18-day judicial custody of the NIA. The US DoJ referred to him as a Canadian citizen with Pakistani nationality.
In post-midnight order after much deliberation, Delhi court handed over Tahawwur Rana to NIA hours after he was formally arrested at airport. Agency had sought 20 days’ custody.
NIA was tasked with bringing Rana to India from US where he was in judicial custody. District Court for Central District of California ordered his extradition in May 2023.
