If there is bad blood between the CEC and the Opposition leaders, it will shake the people’s faith in election results. It’s the worst thing that could happen to Indian democracy.
Indian toymakers are now exploring new markets, but they want govt to negotiate a trade deal with US soon, introduce incentives and subsidies to make the industry more competitive.
Now that both IAF and PAF have made formal claims of having shot down the other’s aircraft in the 87-hour war in May, we can ask a larger question: do such numbers really matter?
The effect on these children may be bad and unfair. But I don’t think this segregation in the class because of language group would be the cause. The author has ignored many other factors such as segregation of residential areas of Muslims and Hindus, the difference in life styles, the customs, the dress code, the eating habits, Muslims preference for Urdu, Arabic or Persian and Hindus preference for Sanskrit, English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese etc also are quite relevant. No religious group has any issue with singing Vande Matram or Jan Gan Man or hoisting the national flag, except Muslims. Left to themselves, these children ( Hindu or Muslim) are so innocent they would have no problem with it. But, since the elders at home have given these issues a religious colour, the children’s mind does get poisoned. The children are not ignorant of what’s happening in the society/ country, day to day. They do have an uncanny ability to observe and draw their own conclusions. The country got divided because they claimed to be a separate nation. Even today there is not much effort to integrate with the rest of the population. On the contrary, by chanting slogans like “Bharat tere tukde honge” or “Pakistan Zindabad” they are isolating themselves further and further. Having said that, I reiterate that this is very unfair and unfortunate for these innocent minds. But the answer lies in sincerely finding the root causes and addressing them rather than harping on the stereotypes.
Very sad and very bad to segregate children like this. In Tamil literature children are equated to God.If same segregation happens to NRI’s children in USA or any other country, just imagine the trauma in our minds and children’s suffering.
Deeply saddening. School children wear a uniform, in order that differences in their backgrounds and status are erased, at least for the few hours that they studay and play together.
