Fourteen million refugees, and 25 million facing acute hunger, should be reason enough for the world to dismantle the dystopia in Sudan — even if the sadism of its rulers is not.
Once seen as a fading presence on India’s investment & startup picture, the state is slowly moving up the ladder, with policy reforms & infrastructure building.
Agreement signed during 17th Joint Working Group (JWG) on defence cooperation. Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met Director General in Israeli Ministry of Defence Amir Baram Tuesday.
This world is being restructured and redrawn by one man, and what’s his power? It’s not his formidable military. It’s trade. With China, it turned on him.
I have a lot of respect for Mr. Shashi Tharoor’s intellect and I have always admired him, but of late, he has been making ridiculous statements. I wonder what is wrong with him. After a long time, RSS is talking about inclusivity which is a radical shift from their earlier stance on Hindu Rashtra. I think we should welcome this new RSS ideology. What is wrong in believing that our religion is superior to others? All religions lead to the same God. Its like saying that all roads lead to the same destination but our’s is a highway with no potholes. It does not in any way secularism.
As an educated fool Tharoor can’t be expected to know the subtle and yet a very important difference between the concepts of a Country and Nation. At no point did Dr Bhagwat say Hindu State.
Mohan Bhagwat has made a fundamental n strategic shift in the thinking and positioning of RSS. This is indeed welcome and he has buried all the major criticism against RSS with this. No one(meaning so called liberal Hindus but not Hindutva wadis) should feel any discomfort in accepting RSS as a mainstream national organization henceforth. A few Shashi Tharoors in this liberal Hindu space would continue to grumble but one can see his hypocrisy when he writes that Bhagwat implies to minorities that ‘ settle problematic issues on our terms and relax’. This is not what Bhagwat said. Like USA or Europe has Christian ethos, India, however defined, ought to have Hindu ethos. This does not mean anything against to minorities. They have their rights and obligations under the constitution. Unless of course, Shashi wants to imply, like ManMohan Singh did, the minorities will have the first right to decide what they will want or do and then remaining 85% majority will be accept it as Hinduism is a secular religion. Mohan Bhagwat should continue this tradition of talking to every one from time to time and ensure that in 5 years, the stigmas associates with RSS are fully obliterated and RSS is accepted as a truely Hindu cultural organization representing India. He should ensure that non Brahmins occupy important positions, women join it and work at par with men and the curse of caste in Hindu society is effectively addressed. More over, individual character of an Indian is developed such that he or she is modern and scientific in thinking, has sensitivity for cleanliness, environment, awareness of social obligations and ethically and morally well behaved.
Its a juvenile argument. Who doesnt think their religion is superior to others? Islam and Christianity believe in ‘one and only God’ – very unlike Hinduism, which inspires RSS’s ideology. Just because one thinks one’s religion is superior doesnt in any way mean people with different faiths cannot coexist peacefully. People in developed countries all over the world strongly believe in Christianity (that claims one & only God) in personal lives but live peacefully with others in secular life. What Mohan Bhagwat is saying is nothing different. RSS indeed believes Hinduism (which does NOT believe in one & only God) is superior to other religions but I dont see why is that a problem. As long as RSS works within the framework of constitution (which it does), there is nothing to worry about. Also, its a no-brainer that a philosophy that believes in multiple paths to reach God is superior to one that claims there is only one way.
A pre occupied brain like Shashi Tharoor can’t be expected more than what he has. It’s common man who has to decide. These are the challenges in Indian society.Hindutva is a supreme way of life that was attacked by invaders of Islam,Christianity & others to destroy but stood like Himalaya since it came in existence on Indian soil.Let person like Tharoor understand Hindutva is the ideology that kept India soil intact but those who distanced from it today are on verge of collapse.
