A resident of Chattabal was shot dead by militants Saturday. Another civilian from Batamaloo area was shot at in a separate militant attack and succumbed to injuries Sunday.
The slain militant was involved in the killing of BJP district president Waseem Bari, his father and brother in July last year, J&K Police said in a tweet.
The incident occurred when a camp of United Liberation of Bodoland (ULB), a militant group formed earlier this week, was busted during an operation Friday, police said.
State police recovered the INSAS rifles Monday from Umkhrah river based on an anonymous tip. The rifles were snatched from a police station by masked men on 15 August.
