Mexican forces killed El Mencho, the powerful head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) on Sunday, setting off vengeance attacks and arson in several states.
Mexico handed over Rafael Quintero, implicated in killing DEA agent Enrique Camarena, as well as Jose Angel Canobbio, who is from a faction of Sinaloa Cartel, led by El Chapo's sons.
While the deal eases the pressure for now on Mexico, prospects for Canada and China appeared dim, as Trump and his team kept up their criticism of their northern neighbour in particular.
