Until recently, I was a doctor in the esic model hospital located in Delhi. I was recruited as a superspecialist with the aim of establishing a urology department in the hospital in 2019. I was forced to work alone without any kind of administrative or medical help and threatened if I decided to complain about the poor working conditions in the hospital. Inspite of repeated demands for surgical instruments , beds for urology patients and adequate staff, the hospital administration and esic paid a deaf ear to it and were only busy in earning commission out of esic panel accredited private hospitals. It is very evident that the esic hospitals of Delhi do not want to develop themselves and the medical care provided by them is a n eye wash and and cheap joke on the honest premium paying clients of the scheme . It might be in the interest of society that these hospitals are closed down and responsibility to care of esic patients is transfered to the local government hospitals and the private hospitals. Although ,I had joined esic with the aim of making a difference , I have given owing to the apathy and the sheer lack of interest of the organization in developing health care . I have resigned and moved to the private health care sector where I am able to make a much bigger positive impact as a health care professional
I agreed with all above peoples statements. Esic is the worst facility to employee. Most important thing is Employer never known which documents require for making the esic pehchan card and how to utilise esic scheam.Esic hospitals like a slum area. Esic dispensary offices officers never know wha5 hims roles in dispensary office. I think stop the esic scheam and anybody can get hospital facility in any hospital without cash like cashless or convert the esic in cashless at any hospital not only government hospital.If any private hospital near of IP person he will take his treatment immediatly in private hospital with cashless. Its better to all esic employee for easily take treatment without submitting the documents for claim.
I totally agree with this article. We(Consultant) had approached for many cases but 90% of was disallowed for some foolish reasons. Even the officer who instruct are not aware about ESIC policy. They just ask IP members to meet some other officers and same continue. With this the person looses his hope in getting claims.
I am also agree with Mr. Zakir Mirza, it is very difficult to get treatment from Esic it will be better to get treatment from Govt. Hospital because if you go to Esic then you can’t go to your work hole day or more because their system is not for patient its system for job less person like retired and old age who can spend his rest life for Esic procedure.
Lack of awareness among employees, employers and ESIC officials leads to unsatisfied sevice. Esic act clearly says the wages to the employees is paid or payable, whether the due contribution is paid or still payable by the employer, at no point the benefits to the IPs should not be denied. If any grievances is there, now esic introduced online grievances system, ips can lodge complaint through their mobile phone and it will surely looked into for redressal. But, accept for the delivery of good sevice and benefits still long way to go. Bcoz of state and central twin administration difficult to provide quality sevice in all centre. One thing is sure the big representatives of trade unions or employers not raising their needs effectively in suitable places. Even though. Esic trying its best give good service.

I am an employee. All of the suddenly my husband got heart attack so we have to taken to the near by hospital for the treatment but in that hospital they didn’t trump ESI facility. But we have paid cash seven lakhs for treatment then we kept for the rebersment from the ESI but i got only one lakh eighty five thousand only instead of seven lakhs .please help me out my situation.
Being a employee I found esic useless it is similar to civil hospital,I will prefer to go civil hospital of particular city because it is much better than esic .I was feeling shame at the time of my wife treatment in esic ,the staff is very rude ,with lack of facilities,Esic should refund the money to employees who don’t want to continue their pathetic service.
