The 2024 Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) showed that reading & arithmetic levels for Class 3 students in govt schools in rural India have improved over pre-pandemic levels.
Allocation for school education went up to 68,805 cr from last budget's Rs 63,449.37 cr. Substantial increase in funds for training teachers & grants-in-aid to state govts & UTs.
UCBs accounted for 1.8% of total industry credit in September 2025—down from 2.2% five yrs ago—showing that they are losing ground to faster PSU banks.
This is the game every nation is now learning to play. Some are finding new allies or seeing value among nations where they’d seen marginal interest. The starkest example is India & Europe.
