At a press conference, BRS founder KCR's daughter K Kavitha once again targeted her cousins, former irrigation minister Harish Rao & ex-Rajya Sabja MP Joginapally Santhosh.
Delhi HC had on 1 July denied bail to Kavitha, noting that PMLA exception is not applicable as she is an ‘accomplished, well-educated woman’. But SC termed it ‘erroneously observation’.
The top court noted Kavitha's trial would take a long time as there were 493 witnesses; prosecutors also relied on co-accused, who had been made approver.
The Special Judge, Kaveri Baweja, extended the custody stating that the BRS leader made attempts to influence the witnesses, and tampered with evidence linked to the case.
Rouse Avenue Court fixed April 1 for hearing on interim bail plea moved by Kavitha. ED alleges she conspired with top AAP leaders to get favours and paid Rs 100 crore to them.
Defence challenges legality of Kavitha’s arrest. ED cites ‘South Group’ involvement in alleged Rs 100 crore kickback to AAP, says MLC involved in evidence tampering.
