All great stories, essayed by great actors and talented directors. What is not highlighted is that the ultra left do not believe in Indian democracy and Indian political leadership. During naxalite struggle in Bengal, walls were painted with slogans – China’s Chairman is our Chairman”. As a young kid in seventies, the slogan appeared strange. Is this the reason people sacrificed their lives and fought by whatever means to attain freedom; a fight in which Indian left had limited contribution. So much so, left had called Subhash Chandra Bose a traitor. Coming back to original point, what are these disillusioned but brilliant students fighting for? They are killing adivasis, people they claim to have taken up gun for, if they don’t fall in line. No one in Naxal belt has any freedom to do anything that goes against party’s diktat. In the city, the same people shout for freedom and use free press and judiciary. Naxalism is the biggest hoax thrusted upon this country by disillusioned left leadership. Yet no director does a film on people that are killed by naxalite bullet. What happens to their family? They also have a mother, a father, a son, a daughter. May be those people do not count. Being part of the mainstream, movie on common people do not fetch award.
