The health minister said all eminent doctors of well-known hospitals have taken the vaccines and only a handful are interested in spreading rumours and encouraging vaccine hesitancy.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also appealed to not pay attention to rumours and misinformation. He said there is no need to worry as experts have said the vaccines are safe.
Health Minister Harsh Vardhan cautioned that even if the vaccination drive is on, there should not be a lowering of guard against Covid and people must follow appropriate behaviour.
The Union Minister said that the country has done well in developing vaccines in the shortest possible time, and presently two vaccines have been given emergency use authorisation.
A massive countrywide mock drill to prepare for the Covid-19 vaccination is being conducted on 8 January at 736 districts across 33 States and Union Territories by the Centre.
