This is India's biggest outbreak of Guillain-Barre Syndrome. There are very few instances when high number of GBS cases are reported in a geographical area within short span of time.
The 53-year-old patient admitted to Mumbai's Nair Hospital passed away during treatment. As of 11 February, Maharashtra has reported 192 suspected cases of Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
