Bangladesh has South Asia’s most liberal investment regime — in terms of legal protection of foreign investment & generous fiscal incentives, says PM Sheikh Hasina.
Former CEA Arvind Subramanian has said methodological changes led to overestimating GDP growth by 2.5 percentage points per year between 2011-12 & 2016-17.
Modi is being forced to focus on economy after slowest expansion in 5 years. Revitalising lenders is essential to jump-starting investments & spending.
Mini deal will likely see no cut in 10% baseline tariff on Indian exports announced by Trump on 2 April, it is learnt, but additional 26% tariffs are set to be reduced.
The Chinese are said to have hired ex-fighter pilots & air force operators from NATO countries over the past several years to help them fine-tune their operational & flying capabilities.
Public, loud, upfront, filled with impropriety and high praise sometimes laced with insults. This is what we call Trumplomacy. But the larger objective is the same: American supremacy.
Very interesting and all credit to its dynamic PM, Shaik Hasina. But, she should note and be very wary of Pakistan for two reasons. Pakistan cannot bear to see any of the Sub Continent countries doing well when it is itself a failing state, controlled totally by its Army and ISI, despite its pretense of being run by a Civil Government. 2. Pakistan particularly cannot bear to see ‘Bangladesh’ (East Pakistan, for them) doing so well compared to itself, when the West Pakistan rulers until 1971 only ‘used’ Bangladesh as a supply depot, and Bangladeshis as second class citizens, and not as another state of Pakistan. Pakistan always transfers its own bungling, incompetence and jealousy into self justified, childish petulance and seeks to harm others rather than look within.
If all is well abt Bangla Desh as shared in this article, illegal immigrants who are still @ India can go back to their country right? I read an article sometime back that, they are the actual vote banks of Trinamool Congress.
You carry too much ignorance and hate. Do you know that the Hindu population has gone up in Bangladesh in the last eight to ten years since the present PM has taken over. It has a booming manufacturing industry and this year it’s GDP growth will be above 8 percent. It is because of people like you that we have an economy like we do today. Down in the dumps. Five years down the line won’t be surprised if you’re an illegal immigrant in Bangladesh looking to earn a living being deprived of that here.
I think Bangla Desh is fast overtaking India in per capita income.

Bangaladesh sould follow free market capitalism and shame other countries of the subcontinent for practising socialism.
Bangladesh is a success story all of South Asia applauds, should seek to emulate.
Congratulations Bangladesh! And ignore idiots like Umesh bhat.
