Sputnik Light is second Covid vaccine to be made available in India by Dr. Reddy’s. In April 2021, DCGI granted approval to two-dose Sputnik V vaccine for restricted use in India.
Dr Reddy's, through which Russia's Sputnik V is available in India, said the timeline was pushed a little further due to import dependency, quality checks.
The drug was developed by DRDO in collaboration with Dr Reddy's and granted emergency use approval on 1 May. It will be supplied to major govt and private hospitals across India.
Dr Reddy's urged everyone to beware of unauthorised individuals offering fake deals or procurement of the Sputnik V vaccine and has has initiated legal action against any entities.
