Coronavirus or Covid-19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It is a viral disease that turned into a pandemic in early 2020. The first known case was recorded in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. Coronavirus has multiple variants such as Delta and Omicron, and its most common symptoms are fever, chills and sore throat.
The virus spreads through liquid particles when the infected person coughs, sneezes or breathes – it has a high multiplication rate. Therefore, the world had taken measures to quarantine or isolate those infected. While the disease can be mild and recoverable, those older or with underlying medical conditions are more likely to be adversely affected. The disease caused according to WHO estimates 3 million deaths in 2020.
Restrictions are fine for the time being, but THAT CANNOT BE PERMANENT. After all, its time that, we work as United India rather than dividing between the states.
Currently, the quarantine is OK, but later, when the cases dwindle, states should not be sceptical that there would be sharp rise if one travels from another part of our own country..
Instead, every state in the country should strengthen the healthcare system, or else, the travel industry would suffer first, then the tourism industry,.
Haath kaanp raha hai, and one cannot blame the state governments. Each day is bringing a surge of new cases. Possibly another two very difficult months lie ahead of India. However, the central government is taking the best possible medical inputs and advice, also seeing the big picture on the economy. With regular consultations and exchange of views, the state governments should support the Centre’s calibrated opening up. If the lockdown is extended for another two weeks, there will be nothing in the shape of the curve on 15th June to warrant its end.
