Head Constable Khurshid, who was transferred from Special Cell where he served as the malkhana in-charge's assistant to the Northeast district on 24 May, has stolen Rs 70 L in cash.
Police have apprehended the 16-yr-old and say robbery was motive but he found only Rs 350 in 17-yr-old victim's pocket. According to DCP Joy Tirkey, the two did not know each other.
