A lower caste student from a wealthy family earning 100k/ month gets addmission in colleges through the rubbish and bullshit reservations and the student from a upper caste whose family income is less than even 10k/month is deprived of the addmission even though he secured much much better marks than the former on the name of reservations. We are bound to live together in a given area but we (India) are already devided. Upper Caste will have to step down to do the works of what lower castes are doing if India further gets devided geographically on the name of castes. Reservation is there because people from lower castes are part of this country and contribute in this economy by consuming goods and providing labour, also they have all rights to grow. Imagine a situation, if all backwards communities are separated from the so called forwards. Would the forwards have so many govt jobs that they are having today, or would they have so many seats in iits or othe institutions as they are having today, the answer is no. Living together is a pact not a compulsion. Backwards adding not only the population but also the opportunities.

The article attempts to further divide people. We are already divided on religion, caste, community, colour, sex and what not. Let me make it clear, being born to a brahmin couple doesn’t make the child brahmin. It is the education and character that makes him a brahmin. That said, the door for becoming a brahmin is now wide open. All you need is education, once that has been achieved, you will realise the importance of character and with the right traits, you have become a brahmin.
The importance of education cannot be explained. If the government and thr people are truly transparent and sincere in their approach, let them ensure education and make compulsory for all. No holds barred. Child of every caste, religion should be sent to school. Have you not seen a poor brahmin family or a rich dalit family? Let them all study together, in two or three generations, the differences between castes will disappear automatically. Let the government make it certain, throw rhe parents who err into the prison . Once the fear factor is established, things fall in line.
The implementation part: this is the toughest scenario. (1) The politicians would not allow it. They are worried if their vote banks (2) they are also worried that with education, comes intelligence and with intelligence comes responsibility, and the educated would take a conscious decision of selecting the deserving candidate.

Prophet Muhammad’s final sermon was delivered during the Hajj of the year 632 C.E., the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah, the 12th month of the lunar year, at Arafat, the most blessed day of the year. After praising, and thanking God, the Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, said “O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore, listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.
O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. God has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. God has Judged that there shall be no interest, and that all the interest due to Al-Abbas ibn Abd’el Muttalib shall henceforth be waived…
Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.
O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under a trust from God and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.
O People, listen to me in earnest, worship God, perform your five daily prayers, fast during the month of Ramadan, and offer Zakat. Perform Hajj if you have the means.
All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab; a white has no superiority over a black, nor does a black have any superiority over a white; [none have superiority over another] except by piety and good action. O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me, and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O people, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and my example, the Sunnah, and if you follow these you will never go astray.
All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and it may be that the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O God, that I have conveyed your message to your people.”
Thus the beloved Prophet completed his Final Sermon, and upon it, near the summit of Arafat, the revelation came down:
“…This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My Grace upon you, and have chosen Islam for you as your religion…” (Quran 5:3)
Even today the Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad is passed to every Muslim in every corner of the world through all possible means of communication. Muslims are reminded about it in mosques and in lectures. Indeed the meanings found in this sermon are indeed astounding, touching upon some of the most important rights God has over humanity, and humanity has over each other. Though the Prophet’s soul has left this world, his words are still living in our hearts.

Day after day, we see such articles in the Print, Wire, Scroll etc. India is perhaps the only country in the world, where “Freedom of Speech”is used by the media to instigate hate, which this article abundantly does. This is the worst phase in the history of independent India, where media is collaborating to fight for caste-based social justice, despite the fact that seventy years of caste-based preferential cum retributive policies have literally wiped out the so-called Upper caste from most areas of public representation, e.g TN. Ethnic cleansing of so-called UC seems to be the motive.
Almighty god created human species as human being without any labeling of castes or creed or religions. The person is borne with some specific abilities as a part of ones DNA. So called persons might be having some prejudicious views against those who are borne with intelligence. This became cause of dividing societies in SC/ST/OBC and so on any many fragments. Now simple remedy is to search out best possible options to all castes and creed to give them place according to their natural capabilities and amend that rotten roots being provision under constitution. Remove labels of Dalit. Can see Mayavati living luxurious life and though she is Dalit? Like that there are many families SC/ST/OBC are having income more than 5 Lacs, though they are under brackets of Reservation? Such stagnant constitution must be updated scientifically. 1- When did upper caste leaders say that only they can become leaders of anti-caste movements?
2-Responsibility is an individual-level thing. So there is nothing incongruent with X being an anti-caste leader while Y harasses people of lower castes where X and Y belong to “upper castes”
3- Caste is an endogamous unit. Upper castes is a sociological term rather than being a real social unit or a caste.

Today in India to be a SC/ST is not a curse but a privilege. If it’s allowed to change caste, many non sc/st would want to become sc/st. I have seen many poor brahmins living a miserable conditions. No government of Congress cared for the poor non-sc/st. Even for Modi it took four years to give 10% reservation to poor Indians who were not covered by any earlier reservation based on caste. I feel now time ripe for review reservations based on caste.

Yes, classification as ‘backward’ has unfortunately become a previlege. This is evident in the fact that so many caste based organizations are striving for’backward status’. Hence, my submission is that if the community actually seeks equality and not benefits then the first step is for the community to believe itself to be equal. Those genuinely wishing for equality must realise that reservation is like crutches. So long as a community keeps reiterating that it is weak and oppressed and needs support it can never claim to be equal. It is necessary for each individual to be proud of their ability and be the best they can be by competing with all others at par. Encouraging good quality education and subsidising education cost could be a way to ensure this. It has nothing to do with caste but everything to do with poverty and ability to pay for the best education.
As far as marriage is concerned, there are many cases of inter-caste marriages already prevalent in India. These need to be encouraged. However, marriage is a personal matter. Caste system is the truth of India. It will be always there. No amount of social justice warriors, no amount of protesting is going to remedy it. As a dalit person, I am ashamed of being born and sometimes feel my parents should not have had me. That’s the truth every dalit or oppressed person has deep inside, a part they like to hide.
How many of us dalits openly admit to being one? Therein lies our answer.
Why have your precious children and feed them into this oppressive consumption? U know, no matter if u become an ias officer, topper in iit, other caste people will only try to pull u down. They are both different fights.
A Kshatriya is a Kshatriya when he or she is born of a Kshatriya father. That is no different for becoming an Irish or an Italian or a Russian.
