Addressing his first public meeting in Assam as part of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Gandhi claimed the Congress recognises the rights of ‘adivasis’ over resources as first dwellers.
Assam Police registered a suo motu FIR against Yatra and its chief organiser KB Byju for allegedly deviating from its permitted route in Jorhat Thursday.
Gandhi also said while he followed the principles of Hindu religion, he did not believe in attempts to make use of matters of faith for personal or political gains.
While communal harmony was the primary theme of the Yatra, the Congress has said the east-west event will also advance ideas of social, economic and political justice.
Gandhi was the first leader to express solidarity and stand by him and his family after he became the target of 'anti-Muslim remarks' in Parliament, Amroha MP adds.
Over generations, Bihar’s bane has been its utter lack of urbanisation. But now, even Bihar is urbanising. Or let’s say, rurbanising. Two decades under Nitish Kumar have created a new elite in its cities.
Indian govt officials last month skipped Turkish National Day celebrations in Delhi, in a message to Ankara following its support for Islamabad, particularly during Operation Sindoor.
Bihar is blessed with a land more fertile for revolutions than any in India. Why has it fallen so far behind then? Constant obsession with politics is at the root of its destruction.
