Singh, in his plea before the apex court, had sought the transfer of all inquiries against him outside Maharashtra and a probe into his case by an independent agency like the CBI.
The case, filed under PMLA, comes after the CBI first carried out a preliminary enquiry on Bombay HC orders that asked to look into bribery allegations against Deshmukh.
After registering the case, the investigating agency also carried out searches at a number of locations including the premises of Deshmukh in Mumbai and hometown Nagpur.
