Then you have “Macho” vs “Pappu”. As long PM Modi is contesting elections, Rahul stands no chance. I am not sure if the Congress can exist without the Gandhis but it the way it has been replaced by AAP in Delhi, NCP in Maharashtra, YSR in AP, TRS in Telangana, BJP in WB and Tripura, despite the Gandhis Congress seems to be in an existential crisis. Mr. Rahul Gandhi even pales in comparison to Mr. Owaisi, who cornered the Govt far more convincingly both inside and outside of the parliament. Mr. Owaisi was careful not to burn himself on Balakot or Rafale. However, apart from Mr. Rahul’s parliamentary absence and foreign holidays, his soft Hindutva has also cost him credibility. Why would someone buy duplicate Hindu for originals?

RG (or any opposition leader) has to remember few things.
1. There is genuine concern with how the BJP-RSS under Modi-Shah-Bhagwat is running the country – be it economic mismanagement, lack of morals in public life, emasculating institutions built up pain-stakingly over the years, focussing on headlines and disregarding the substance of real change, overt religious politics etc.
2. Even if one is not clear in his speech, one should be clear in his mind what one wants to do. Distraction, defeat and discouraging remarks should not dissuade one from the final goal.
3. The three ways of deciding succession as enumerated by the author is actually only 2 (the third is just an altered version of the 2nd way)
a. The Ramayan Way:
Here the anointed successor takes his place by consensus and everyone makes way for his wishes and commands. This is the timeless old way which works if the successor is clearly identified, has the ability and prowess to execute the transition and is supported in this by majority of the stake-holders. Best example is Nehru taking over the Congress leadership after Gandhi’s assassination. The leader’s personality, personal sacrifice and unquestioned ability are the key factors which make this possible. These kind of transitions are actually quite rare.
b. The Mahabharat way:
A successor feels that the system does not offer him his due as a genuine leader. He then has to purge the old order forcefully. Such a leader must not be afraid to lose everything and anything and in the process must not hesitate in destroying the whole old order to create a new one. Anything is justified in this cause – including forsaking your guru, your family, old ways of life – because if the system is not renewed and withers away then the whole old way of life dies. This is exactly what Krishna advices Arjuna that if he does not fight for the new order then the entire edifice of dharma risks collapse. Examples are many – Ashoka ascending the throne after Bindusara, Aurangzeb becoming Mughal emperor after killing his brother and imprisoning his father, Modi purging the old Advani order, Indira doing the same in 1969 to the old congress.
If RG or any other opposition leader does not fight to establish a genuine alternative to the current govt, entire Indian republic built pain-stakingly by our freedom fighters risks collapse because unopposed one party rule is death of democracy. Without democracy, we risk becoming another Pakistan – a failed state.
RG must realise that there are issues far bigger than personal injury or propriety at stake here. It is imperative that a genuine opposition which has a good chance of replacing the present govt take shape at the earliest to preserve our democracy. If he feels unequal to the task, then he should accept ignominy for ever and leave the stage for someone else. Arjuna when faced with this same dilemma made a choice to fight – RG needs to choose now.
As per my view what RG doing now continuously attacking on Modi failure that take him on high level…. because no one talking about current center government failure and even asking him or discussed by every one like media and his supports and other opposition…… and my view some leader who are in congress or who left congress in past they want congress must be in compromising condition for them political career or them next generation… if RG will succeeded in this he will be on Indra Gandhi position in congress…… that why some leaders diverted it or some hurdles on his way……. its on RG how he tackle it like Indra Gandhi did it on 1968-69
Congress can be revived Rahul Gandhi only if he –
– converts to a true Hindu through his conduct i.e. a true belief in Hinduism
– strats respecting Indian culture and Indian way of life
– stops depending on lies, fake news and fabricated facts by his leftist colleagues
– starts contributing to nation building instead of supporting anti-national activities
– starts respecting nationalists sentiments and Indian army
The truth is that Congress is a corrupt and spent force destined for the scrap heap.
