India has achieved a significant cultural milestone with the entry of Moidams—the mound-burial system of the Ahom dynasty in Assam—in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Comparable to Egyptian pyramids, the Moidams situated in Charaideo are the burial grounds of Ahom kings and queens. These were first included in Tentative List in 2014.
