CBSE is working to decide the best marking scheme to declare results for Class 12 students. This includes considering all exams taken in Class 11 and Class 10 boards.
In view of Covid, It was decided that CBSE will take steps to compile the results as per well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner, a panel member said.
The bench, however, clarified that it will not give more time for placement of objective criteria as many students will be taking admissions in colleges in India and abroad.
The plea contended that the unprecedented surge in Covid has made it impossible to conduct the exams and any further delay would cause irreparable loss to the students' future.
In a detailed FAQ document sent to schools, CBSE has said students who are not reachable over the phone for telephonic assessment can be marked absent.
A high-level virtual meeting will be convened with all states and union territories to seek suggestions on the conduct of Class 12 exams, a Union minister said.
