ANKARA (Reuters) – Europe’s football governing body UEFA’s two-match ban on Turkish player Merih Demiral for a politically-charged “wolf” celebration is unacceptable and the decision should be corrected, Turkey’s Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said on Friday.

“The beauty and excitement of football should not be overshadowed with political decisions,” Yilmaz said in a post on social media platform X.
