DUESSELDORF, Germany (Reuters) – England and Switzerland went to a penalty shootout in their Euro 2024 quarter-final on Saturday, with neither side able to break the deadlock in extra time and the score locked at 1-1.

Breel Embolo had put Switzerland ahead after 75 minutes when he poked home from close range, and Bukayo Saka levelled for England five minutes later with a brilliant strike in off the far post.

The winner will meet either Netherlands or Turkey, who play each other later on Saturday.
