AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) – McLaren’s Lando Norris put McLaren on pole position for the U.S. Grand Prix on Saturday after George Russell crashed his Mercedes in the dying seconds and forced Formula One leader Max Verstappen to slow.
Verstappen, 54 points clear of closest rival Norris in the standings after winning the earlier sprint race, will start alongside the Briton on the front row at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas.
Russell was unhurt and climbed out of the car.
