Chennai, Jul 6 (PTI) World Champion D. Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi and former World Rapid Champion Nodirbek Abdusattorov are some of the leading players who will feature in the fourth edition of the Chennai Grand Masters, to be held here from July 16 to 22.
The tournament, which carries a prize pool of Rs 75 lakh, also offers valuable FIDE Circuit points as players continue their pursuit of qualification for the next Candidates Tournament.
Apart from the above mentioned GMs, the tournament will also see two-time Grand Chess Tour champion Alireza Firouzja, 2026 Bullet Chess Champion Nihal Sarin, former Candidates challenger Dmitry Andreikin, American GM Hans Niemann, and last year’s Challengers champion Pranesh M in action.
“Every edition strengthens our resolve to build a tournament that the world’s best players are proud to compete in while creating meaningful opportunities for Indian talent to test themselves against the very best,” said Manu Gurtu, Tournament Director.
