(Reuters) – Left-arm seamer Josh Hull will make his England debut in the third test against Sri Lanka, the England and Wales Cricket Board said on Wednesday.

Hull, 20, will replace Matthew Potts in the final test of the Sri Lanka series, which begins on Friday at The Oval.

England are seeking to secure a 3-0 series sweep in their final home test of the summer after Sunday’s 190-run win in the second test at Lord’s.

Leicestershire’s Hull was also called up for the second test following Mark Wood’s thigh injury but did not play. Hull, six feet and seven inches tall, played for the Lions in a warm-up match against Sri Lanka in August.

England squad for third test: Dan Lawrence, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope (captain), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jamie Smith (wicketkeeper), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Olly Stone, Josh Hull, Shoaib Bashir.
